How to Choose the Material for Phone Cases

1.Silicone

Its strong waterproof ability is also a disadvantage because if sweat or other liquids accidentally get inside the phone case, it is difficult to evaporate.

2.TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane)

Advantages

It is flexible and provides all-around protection against drops. It has excellent transparency and can be made highly transparent. It is highly wear-resistant. It is also environmentally friendly and non-toxic.

Disadvantages

It is prone to deformation and yellowing. The color options are relatively monotonous, usually solid colors. Cleaning dust can be troublesome.

3.PC (Polycarbonate)

Advantages

Relatively lightweight and fits well with the phone.

Disadvantages

It is not easy to disassemble, it doesn’t have good anti-drop functionality, and it is less durable with poor scratch resistance.

4.PP (Polypropylene)

Advantages

It is the lightest material, produces high-quality phone cases with a smooth appearance.

Disadvantages

It is prone to bending and deformation, does not fit the phone well, and has limited anti-drop functionality.

5.Glass

Advantages

It can create visually appealing patterns that won’t fade. It has a glossy appearance, delicate touch, and feels cool to the touch in summer.

It is not resistant to drops and easily shatters. Its anti-slip ability is reduced, and it has average heat dissipation.

6.Metal

Advantages

It has a high-quality appearance, giving a cool feeling. It is relatively dirt-resistant, easy to clean, and not prone to wear and tear.

Disadvantages

Although it uses aerospace aluminum alloy materials, it still increases the weight of the phone. If the phone falls to the ground, the case may be fine, but the phone itself may be damaged. It may also affect the phone signal.

7.Wood

Advantages

It has a similar feel and hardness to PC cases, but since it is made of wood, it can be carved and has unique patterns on each piece, making it very personalized.

Disadvantages

It is more expensive, needs careful handling during disassembly as it is prone to damage. Regular maintenance is required, as contact with water can cause the wood to become damp, affecting heat dissipation. In most cases, it is purely decorative and provides minimal protection for the phone.

8.Leather

Advantages

It has a high-end and classy appearance, making it suitable for business use, and it feels great to touch.

Disadvantages

Leather cases often come at a higher price and require regular maintenance to prevent peeling.

9.Acrylic

Advantages

It is very sturdy and durable, has a longer lifespan, excellent transparency, and is colorless, tasteless, and non-toxic.

Disadvantages

The cost is higher, and there are many counterfeit products on the market that closely resemble the real ones.
